This 2021 The Who £5 Coin features one of Britain’s most iconic bands, The Who!
The Who defined Britain’s unique and explosive rock sound in the 1960s and have since gone on to become an integral part of our nation’s soundtrack for over 50 years. Together, groundbreaking lead guitarist Pete Townshend, microphone-twirling Roger Daltrey, John ‘The Ox’ Entwistle, and maverick drummer Keith Moon challenged genres, broke records and thrilled fans with their unique style.
Designed by artist Henry Gray, the coin’s design includes a Union Jack flag, mod logo, and a Rickenbacker guitar. And, in a nod to one of the band’s most famous songs ‘Pinball Wizard’ from their album and film Tommy, the coin design comes together to form a fantastic pinball table.
