This 2024 Giant Deer 50p is the final coin in the three-coin Ice Age Giants collection that explores the story of the giant deer, a mighty giant that roamed the Earth during the Ice Age.
The giant deer had the largest set of antlers of any known species and their sheer size meant that giant deer preferred flat plains, lightly wooded areas and grassland.
The reverse design depicting the giant deer has been created by palaeo-artist Robert Nicholls and is based on scientifically accurate reconstructions
