This 2020 Macaroni Penguin 50p is the third in a new series featuring four Penguins on behalf of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands Government.
The Macaroni Penguin is known for its distinctive yellow crest; they have bright red eyes, with a thick, orange beak. With the crest, an adult bird has an average height of around 70cm, yet their weight can vary drastically dependent on the time of year and the sex of the penguin.
This 50p coin is available as a Coloured Cupro Nickel Diamond Finish limited to just 2500. The coin is sold in a capsule inside a blue pouch however you can buy a 2020 Penguins Collector’s Album which holds the four penguin designs in crown shaped Capsules.
