This is the 8th hunt in the series where we buy a sealed £250 bag to see how many commemorative 50p coins I could find for my own collection. The sealed bag was from Birmingham dated 23-12-2019 Time: 15:43:21. This is what we found:
4x 2019 Paddington at St Paul’s
3x 2005 Samuel Johnsons Dictionary
2x 2016 Mrs Tiggy-Winkle
2x 2017 Peter Rabbit
2x 2017 Tom Kitten
2x 2017 Benjamin Bunny
1x 2003 Women’s Social and Political Union
1x 2006 Victoria Cross Soldier
1x 2012 London Olympic Archery
1x 2015 Battle of Britain
1x 2016 Peter Rabbit
1x 2017 Jeremy Fisher
1x 2018 Flopsy Bunny
1x 2018 Representation of the People Act
1x 2018 Paddington at the Station
1x 2018 Paddington at Buckingham Palace
1x 2019 Sherlock Holmes
1x 2019 Paddington at the Tower
1x 2008 Britannia
1x 2017 Shield
This is definitely one of our better hunts! The 2003 Women’s Social and Political Union 50p and Battle of Britain 50p were nice finds and we even found a 2012 London Olympic Archery 50p! Most unusual goes to the 1981 2 Franc. Even though it is round it managed to disguise itself as a 50p coin.
Star Find in this weeks hunt is the 2018 Flopsy Bunny 50p. It is the first one we have found and with only a mintage of 1,400,000 it is worth over £5!
Make sure to check back for many more hunts!
