To celebrate the Centenary Anniversary of Rupert Bear created in 1920 by Mary Tourtel as a cartoon for the Daily Express newspaper. The Isle of Man have issued the first ever collection of Rupert Bear 50p Coins.
This 5 piece 50p coin collection have been struck to a Brilliant Uncirculated quality and designed by Matt Tindall, featuring specially commissioned designs depicting some of the best-loved characters from the comic strip, including Rupert Bear, Podgy Pig, Bill Badger, Edward Trunk and Algy Pug.
The Rupert Bear 50p will be the only one of the designs to enter circulation as legal tender on the Isle of Man and 25,000 will be issued into circulation making it a very rare release which may turn up in your change in the UK.
Each design will also be available as a Silver Proof available at The Westminster Collection limited to just 2495!
